The new 6280 reference pro is the result of over 15 years of experience in the development of invisible loudspeakers. It is powered by a total of six high-performance exciters, all - owing it to handle 150W RMS / 300W peak power. Thanks to the two counterweights, the surface is effectively equalised, ensuring excellent bass reproduction. Although, unlike the 4080 ultimate, it operates without a woofer or crossover, it has certain advantages that come with this design. By using an array of exciters and avoiding power loss in resistors or crossovers, an exceptionally high maximum SPL is achievable. As an exciter-only loudspeaker, there are no phase issues at the crossover frequency between the exciter and the woofer.

This speaker is therefore ideal as a satellite in a large home cinema system—paired with a large cerasonar subwoofer, such as the 6280 or 62200 subwoofer. As a stereo loudspeaker, it offers the advantage over invisible speakers with conventional woofers in that it is significantly lighter and has a much shallower installation depth. To fully harness its power, a cerasonar DSP amplifier must be used. Through customer feedback, we learnt that a flawless sub - structure is not always guaranteed. With the most powerful exciter-based loudspeaker, we have developed a product that can develop its full audio performance even in challenging substructures. Where other pneumatically driven systems with an additional bass speaker can often cause vibrations, especially in metal substructures, our series can guarantee trouble-free installation.

HIGH-FREQUENCY REPRODUCTION

For a more precise high-frequency reproduction and higher power handling, the cerasonar reference pro series is equipped with an optimised exciter driver with a modified voice coil and a stronger neodymium magnet system.
