Reference Architectural Bass System – 4 × 12"

The cerasonar 62200 sub represents the ultimate low-frequency solution within the cerasonar portfolio. Developed for the most demanding home cinema and high-fidelity installations, it delivers a level of bass performance rarely associated with architectural audio while remaining almost completely concealed within the building structure.

Equipped with four custom-developed 12-inch long-throw woofers operating in a high-efficiency bass reflex enclosure, the 62200 sub produces effortless low-frequency reproduction with exceptional authority, impact and control. Its enormous radiating surface, combined with a specially engineered extended bass reflex channel, generates deep, dynamic bass that reaches far into the infrasonic range while maintaining excellent precision and remarkably low distortion.

Despite its extraordinary performance, only a discreet bass outlet remains visible within the finished interior. This allows architects and designers to create truly uncompromising listening environments without sacrificing the aesthetics of the space.

The 62200 sub has been developed exclusively as the ultimate system partner for the cerasonar 6280 reference pro. Together, both products create the highest-performance architectural audio system offered by cerasonar, delivering reference-level dynamics, exceptional bass authority and an immersive listening experience for dedicated home cinemas and music enthusiasts who demand the very best.

For optimum performance, cerasonar recommends pairing the 62200 sub with the cs-2000dsp4 DSP amplifier together with the dedicated factory DSP preset. Developed as a complete system, the loudspeakers, subwoofer, DSP amplifier and factory DSP preset have been engineered to work hand in hand, ensuring predictable performance, maximum dynamics and seamless system integration.

Alternatively, compatible third-party DSP amplifiers, including LEA Professional and Powersoft, may be used with the appropriate cerasonar factory DSP preset.

Designed to energise even very large listening spaces, the system delivers effortless low-frequency performance without compression, even at demanding playback levels.

cerasonar 62200 sub

The cerasonar 62200 sub has been engineered for reference-level installations where extreme low-frequency performance and absolute invisibility are required. Designed for flagship home cinema and high-end audio environments, it delivers massive, precisely controlled infra-bass with exceptional dynamics. Its large radiating surface and advanced bass reflex architecture enable a room-filling low-frequency experience with output levels of up to 122 dB at 30 Hz.

Customised flat 12" woofer
unleash ultra-low frequencies

Dual voice coils
Dual voice coils allow for flexible wiring configurations and better matching with amplifiers. More importantly, they enable symmetrical drive from both sides of the coil, reducing distortion and improving control across the entire excursion range. This results in cleaner, more accurate bass reproduction – even at high output levels.

Glass fibre sandwich diaphragm
The flat diaphragm is constructed using a glass fibre sandwich structure, which provides a great balance of rigidity and low mass. Glass fibre is well-known for its strength and damping properties, allowing the cone to move precisely without unwanted resonances. This ensures tight, punchy bass with fast transient response, well-suited for both music and film soundtracks.

Die-cast aluminium basket
The driver is housed in a precision-engineered die-cast aluminium basket, which is extremely rigid and non-resonant. This robust structure prevents mechanical flexing and provides a solid foundation for the motor system, ensuring consistent performance and reducing energy loss through unwanted vibrations.

Recommendation
the perfect complement

The improved cerasonar installation frame can now be used for even more applications. Thanks to the stable construction made of waterproof plywood and the use of Basotect® insulating material, it is also ideal as a backbox to effectively reduce rear noise.
The innovative optional vibration dampers now also make it possible to reduce structure-borne noise.

The housing comes pre-drilled and can therefore be used for various installation environments, such as:

  • In-situ concrete installation
  • Masonry installation
  • Easy ceiling installation
  • Vibration damper installation (suspended drywall ceiling)

The installation frame is supplied as standard with high-quality cable glands and integrated strain relief from OBO, insulation material from Basotect® as well as an OSB blank panel and alignment battens.

Installation is easy: the factory pre-drilled holes are enlarged with a suitable drill for the desired application, then the cable gland, insulation material and any accessories are fitted
