Ceratec Audio Design GmbH grants this voluntary limited manufacturer's warranty exclusively to the original business purchaser that purchased the covered new product from Ceratec Audio Design GmbH or through an authorised cerasonar distributor or dealer. It applies to entrepreneurs, legal entities under public law and special funds under public law and is not directed at consumers.

The warranty belongs to the business purchaser identified in the registration and is not automatically transferable to a private end customer or any other third party. A professional installer may submit the registration on behalf of the business purchaser. Any later transfer requires the prior express confirmation of Ceratec Audio Design GmbH in text form.

The applicable warranty period begins on the purchase invoice date issued to the original business purchaser by Ceratec Audio Design GmbH or an authorised cerasonar distributor or dealer.

Five-year limited functional warranty

Five years for cerasonar invisible loudspeakers and invisible subwoofers, provided that all requirements in section 03 have been fulfilled.

Three-year limited manufacturer's warranty

Three years for cerasonar outdoor loudspeakers and outdoor subwoofers that are expressly identified in the relevant product documentation as suitable for outdoor use, provided that the registration and system requirements in section 03 have been fulfilled.

Two-year limited manufacturer's warranty

Two years for cerasonar amplifiers and other electronic products expressly covered by this warranty.

Products, accessories or components not listed above are covered only where Ceratec Audio Design GmbH expressly confirms a separate voluntary warranty for the relevant product.

The five-year limited functional warranty for eligible invisible loudspeakers and invisible subwoofers and the three-year limited manufacturer's warranty for eligible outdoor loudspeakers and outdoor subwoofers apply only where all of the following requirements are satisfied:

1. The product was selected, installed, connected, configured, tested, finished and commissioned by appropriately qualified professionals.
2. The applicable cerasonar installation instructions, technical data sheets, surface-treatment instructions and safety information valid on the invoice date were followed.
3. The loudspeaker or subwoofer passed the prescribed functional test before permanent covering or finishing, where applicable, and before final project handover.
4. The speaker warranty registration on this page was completed in full by the business purchaser or a professional acting on its behalf and submitted to Ceratec Audio Design GmbH within 30 calendar days after commissioning. The registration identifies the seller, all relevant installed cerasonar and third-party system components, every audio source, every physical amplifier and the actual output/channel assignment, hardware output setting or connected load, bridge configuration, DSP preset and protection used.
5. Available installation, commissioning and functional-test records are retained and can be supplied to Ceratec Audio Design GmbH on reasonable request.
6. The connected audio source, analogue output level, amplifier input sensitivity and gain structure were configured so that the amplifier input stage is not overdriven at the maximum intended operating level. Where necessary, a high-output source was attenuated or otherwise limited to a compatible level.
7. The amplifier output mode or connected-load setting, rear-panel switch or DIP-switch position, bridge mode and loudspeaker connection matched the connected loudspeaker system and the applicable cerasonar documentation.
8. The product-specific protection concept prescribed in the product documentation valid on the invoice date was used continuously from first commissioning.

Approved protection concepts

Depending on the product and system configuration, the prescribed protection concept may consist of one of the following:

• in-built protection where expressly provided and permitted by the applicable product documentation;
• cerasonar protection unit 25 W;
• cerasonar protection unit 50 W;
• cerasonar protection unit pro 25 W;
• cerasonar protection unit pro 50/100 W;
• a compatible cerasonar DSP amplifier operated with the correct product-specific cerasonar DSP preset;
• the specified 100 V system configuration, including the prescribed amplifier mode, power allocation and product settings.

Where the product documentation identifies a particular amplifier, protection unit, filter, limiter, preset or configuration as mandatory, that requirement forms part of this warranty. A protection method approved for one cerasonar product must not be assumed to be suitable for another product.

Input signal and gain structure

Loudspeaker-side protection does not protect the system against distortion already created by an overdriven amplifier input. The manufacturer-specified maximum analogue output level of every connected source must be compatible with the amplifier input sensitivity, input setting and gain structure. High-output streamers, preamplifiers, mixers, converters or other sources must be attenuated, limited or configured where necessary so that the amplifier input stage is not overloaded at the maximum intended operating level. Operation with an overdriven input stage or a clipped or otherwise distorted input signal is outside the intended operating conditions of this warranty.

During the applicable warranty period, Ceratec Audio Design GmbH warrants that the covered product will be free from defects in materials and workmanship and will retain its intended basic product function under normal professional use, subject to these conditions.

The warranty covers the cerasonar product itself. It does not guarantee a particular acoustic result in an individual room or project, an unchanged frequency response after project-specific finishing, compatibility with every third-party product or the absence of construction-related noise, vibration or resonance.

For amplifiers and electronic products, the warranty does not guarantee the permanent availability, functionality or compatibility of third-party streaming services, applications, cloud services, voice assistants, codecs, network functions or external platforms.

This warranty does not cover damage, deterioration, defects or malfunctions caused in whole or in part by:

• transport, loading, unloading or storage after risk has passed;
• incorrect product selection or use outside the intended application;
• unsuitable wall, ceiling, mounting structure, substrate, rear volume, ventilation or environmental conditions;
• incorrect installation, wiring, polarity, connection, configuration, commissioning or maintenance;
• incorrect plastering, filling, sanding, painting, coating, wallpapering, veneering or other surface treatment;
• failure to perform the prescribed test before permanent covering or finishing;
• input-stage overdrive caused by excessive source output voltage, an incompatible source/amplifier level, incorrect input sensitivity or incorrect gain structure, including operation with a clipped or otherwise distorted input signal;
• operation with unsuitable amplification, amplifier output clipping, excessive power, an incorrect output setting or rear-panel switch setting, incorrect impedance, incorrect bridging or overload;
• incorrect DSP settings, an incorrect factory preset or operation without a mandatory filter, limiter, preset or protection unit;
• moisture, condensation, standing water, immersion, frost, excessive heat, corrosion, salt, chemicals, pollution or weather exposure beyond the published product limits;
• normal weathering, colour variation, patina, fading or other cosmetic ageing of outdoor products that does not impair their intended function;
• accident, misuse, negligence, vandalism, fire, lightning, overvoltage, power-supply faults or other external events;
• unauthorised opening, modification, repair, replacement of components or use of non-approved parts;
• incompatible third-party hardware, software, firmware or network infrastructure;
• normal wear and tear or consumable components;
• a removed, altered, damaged or illegible manufacturing-date marking or product label.

Unless Ceratec Audio Design GmbH expressly agrees otherwise in text form, this warranty is limited to examination, repair or replacement of the covered cerasonar product.

The warranty does not cover:

• on-site fault diagnosis, labour, travel, accommodation or project-management costs;
• access to, exposure of, removal of or reinstallation of the product;
• opening or restoration of walls, ceilings, masonry, concrete, furniture or other building elements;
• plastering, filling, sanding, painting, wallpapering, veneering, coating or refinishing;
• scaffolding, lifting equipment, protection work, temporary installations or loss of use;
• damage to other products, construction components or project finishes, except where liability cannot lawfully be excluded.

The customer must take reasonable steps to limit project, removal and restoration costs once a possible defect becomes apparent.

The original business purchaser must notify Ceratec Audio Design GmbH in text form without undue delay after discovering a possible warranty case and before arranging repairs, removal or replacement at Ceratec Audio Design GmbH's expense.

The claim must include, where applicable:

• the purchasing business, installing company and contact details;
• the invoice or order reference issued by Ceratec Audio Design GmbH or the authorised distributor or dealer, together with proof of purchase;
• the product name, quantity and loudspeaker manufacturing date or date code;
• a detailed description of the reported fault;
• photographs, videos, measurements or test results;
• details of the installation, construction and surface finish;
• audio source model, connection type, manufacturer-specified maximum analogue output level, amplifier input settings and gain structure;
• amplifier model, actual output assignments, output configuration, DSP preset, protection and system settings;
• for five- or three-year loudspeaker claims, the submitted speaker warranty registration with all relevant loudspeaker, subwoofer, amplifier and output-assignment records and the available installation and commissioning documentation.

Ceratec Audio Design GmbH may require remote diagnostics, additional documentation, inspection of the installed system or return of the product. A product must not be returned without prior return authorisation and return instructions.

If Ceratec Audio Design GmbH confirms a valid warranty case, it may at its discretion:

• repair the affected product;
• replace the affected product with the same model; or
• provide a technically equivalent successor or replacement product where the original model is no longer available.

A replacement product may differ in appearance, dimensions, connection details, technical implementation or compatibility where the original product is no longer available, provided that it offers a reasonably equivalent core function.

Repair or replacement does not restart or extend the original warranty period. The repaired or replacement product remains covered only for the unexpired remainder of the original warranty period.

Unless otherwise agreed in text form, the customer bears the costs and risk of exposing, removing, packaging and returning the product. The allocation of examination and transport costs is otherwise governed by the applicable contract, the cerasonar Terms of Service and mandatory law.

This warranty is a separate, voluntary manufacturer's warranty. It does not replace the cerasonar Terms of Service and does not extend the statutory or contractual defect rights beyond the express warranty benefits stated here.

Mandatory rights that cannot lawfully be restricted remain unaffected. The inspection and notification obligations applicable to commercial transactions, including section 377 of the German Commercial Code where applicable, also remain unaffected.

In the event of a conflict, an individual agreement or an express project-specific warranty confirmation issued by Ceratec Audio Design GmbH takes precedence over these general warranty conditions. The cerasonar Terms of Service apply in all other respects.

These warranty conditions are governed by German law, excluding the United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods, to the extent permitted by law. The jurisdiction provisions in the applicable cerasonar Terms of Service remain unaffected.
