cerasonar protection unit pro – Advanced Loudspeaker Protection for High-Power Amplifiers

The cerasonar protection unit pro has been developed to provide advanced loudspeaker protection for cerasonar invisible loudspeakers when operated with conventional amplifiers, streaming amplifiers or AV receivers that do not support cerasonar factory DSP presets.

Unlike the standard cerasonar protection unit, the protection unit pro features an enhanced protection circuit specifically designed to respond to the high transient power peaks generated by modern AV receivers and high-performance amplifiers. This provides significantly improved protection against overload while ensuring reliable long-term operation of the connected loudspeaker.

Whenever a compatible DSP amplifier is operated with the appropriate cerasonar factory DSP preset, no additional protection unit is required, as loudspeaker protection is already integrated into the DSP preset. In addition, every cerasonar factory DSP preset has been specifically developed for its corresponding loudspeaker, optimising tonal balance, extending low-frequency performance where applicable and activating proprietary technologies such as Dynamic Bass Enhancement on supported models. The result is an even more natural, balanced and immersive listening experience while maintaining reliable loudspeaker protection.

The cerasonar protection unit pro is therefore intended for installations where cerasonar factory DSP presets cannot be used, providing a reliable solution for conventional amplifier platforms while preserving the flexibility to integrate cerasonar loudspeakers into virtually any audio system.

In addition to advanced overload protection, the protection unit pro incorporates a fixed high-pass filter. This reduces low-frequency energy reaching the loudspeaker, increasing power handling and long-term reliability. For optimum full-range performance, cerasonar therefore recommends combining the loudspeaker with a dedicated invisible subwoofer whenever the protection unit pro is used.

When installed according to cerasonar recommendations, the protection unit pro also fulfils the requirements for the 5-year cerasonar functional warranty.

Supplied with a Phoenix connector adapter, the cerasonar protection unit pro integrates easily into both new and existing installations, providing reliable loudspeaker protection whenever amplifier platforms without cerasonar factory DSP presets are used. While this ensures safe and dependable operation, the highest possible sound quality and overall system performance are achieved when using a compatible DSP amplifier together with the dedicated cerasonar factory DSP preset.
