THE PERFECT COMPLEMENT TO OUR PRODUCTS

Amplifiers form the most important foundation of any professional audio system. This is where all available signal sources are connected and managed.

Our cs-500dsp4 comes with proprietary presets for each cerasonar speaker and subwoofer, ensuring maximum sound quality.

SMARTER THAN EVER

The cs-500dsp4 can be easily and quickly connected to the most common Smart Home systems. This makes it the ideal partner for multi-room audio projects that can be controlled by the system pioneer control4, for example.

COMPLETELY REDESIGNED AND WITH IMPROVED WEIGHT/OUTPUT RATIO

The cerasonar cs-500dsp4 DSP amplifier was specially developed for use with our cerasonar products.

A digital power supply provides a stable voltage supply and four autonomous amplifier chips from International Rectifier ensure flawless as well as distortion-free amplification, even at maximum load. The four power amplifiers deliver 125 watts per channel into 4 or 8 ohms and can be bridged to 250 watts into 8 ohms if required. In bridge mode the 70V / 100V mode is also supported, for this mode we offer additional audio transformers for our speakers and subwoofers.

Due to its compact dimensions, the amplifier requires little space in the server cabinet. Depending on requirements, one or two amplifiers fit next to each other in 1U, the adapter plates are of course included in the delivery. But it can also be used as a single unit in a cabinet or similar.

There are four balanced inputs, the cinch adapters included in the package contents can be used for up to two stereo cinch inputs. If the preset standby automatic is not desired, the amplifier can also be switched on and off via 12V trigger (recommended).

The amplifier is connected to the network via LAN and can be configured via a web browser (no additional PC software required) or via smart home systems.

Even at high temperatures, the cs-500dsp4 works reliably due to a built-in fan with intelligent temperature-dependent fan speed. In normal operation, the fan remains switched off, which means that no disturbing fan noise is caused and it can also be used as a stand-alone device (from S/N: 00121).

Smart Home Systems
The cs-500dsp4 supports numerous Smart Home systems and the drivers can be obtained free of charge in the download area. The following functions can be controlled via the drivers: Mute, Volume, Input Matrix, DSP Filter, DSP Limiter, Bass as well as Tweeter Adjustment and the recall of cerasonar presets.

Configuration

In the configuration, a pre-installed preset can be loaded for each cerasonar product. Various DSP filters are preset in this preset so that the maximum sound quality is achieved. An overload protection is also available, so that no cerasonar protection unit is necessary. This results in a low space requirement and cabling effort.

The configuration interface is used to fine-tune the loudspeakers to take room acoustics into account. Various filters can be selected, such as bass and treble adjustment, DSP filter, power limitation, etc. In addition, it is possible to assign the input channels to the respective output channels via an input matrix, which makes a 2.1 setup possible, for example.
To protect the amplifier from unauthorised access after configuration, password protection is available.

70V/100V
For professional installations with long cable lengths, the 70 V or 100 V mode is ideal. The DIP switch on the back of the amplifier is set to the correct position. In this mode, 250 watts are available in each case. In addition, a configuration as stereo or mono operation is possible (via input matrix).

For invisible background sound reinforcement in a long corridor or, for example, for background sound reinforcement in a hotel, the entry-level loudspeaker cerasonar 1520 fit is ideal.
Since the volume requirements are low, 2.5 to 5.0 watts are usually sufficient. The amplifier delivers 250 watts per channel, whereby we recommend a safety cushion of 20%. At 200 watts per channel, up to 40 speakers per channel or 80 speakers per amplifier can be driven. When using 2 amplifiers, 160 loudspeakers can be used in only 1 U, making it possible to provide sound reinforcement for large objects with little space requirement.

Individually adaptable
By using high-quality components and an intelligent power supply and amplifier circuit, a high power output is possible in a compact size. The cs-500dsp4 can be individually configured according to requirements.

  • 4x 125 watts (into 4 or 8 ohms), e.g. for multi-room speakers
  • 2x 125 watts (into 4 or 8 ohms) and 1x 250 watts (into 8 ohms), e.g. for 2.1 systems
  • 2x 250 watts (8 ohms), e.g. for subwoofers

Speakers from other manufacturers
When operating third-party loudspeakers or subwoofers, you can create and save your own presets with filters. Furthermore, a power limit is available to protect the speakers from overload.

Stand-by
The cerasonar cs-500dsp4 offers several operating modes:

"on", here the amplifier is always switched on and ready for operation. This mode is suitable, for example, for the "delay-free" use of Alexa, without boot time of the amplifier. If the cs-500dsp4 is integrated with a Smart Home system via a driver, the mute function is available for saving power and suppressing any background noise.

The "auto" function checks the audio signal in the background and switches on the amplifier if necessary. When using the "auto" function, mains hum and other disturbances can interfere with the automatic switch-on and ensure that the amplifier does not switch to stand-by mode. In this case, the input sensitivity can be adjusted in three steps via the web GUI.

"12V trigger", for smooth operation we recommend integration via the 12V trigger, this is present in high-quality AV receivers or audio streaming devices and switches the cs-500dsp4 on and off.

Tip: If it is not possible to use the cs-500dsp4 via a Smart Home system or via a 12V trigger, there are third-party devices that are suitable for switching it on and off without any problems:

  • Master slave socket strip - here the cs-500dsp4 is operated as a "slave" and the signal source as the "master". As soon as the source is switched on (e.g. AV receiver) and exceeds or falls below the set consumption threshold, the "slave" socket is automatically switched on or off.

  • BobWire DAT1 - S/PDIF 12 V Trigger - the adapter is connected to the S/PDIF output of the source. As soon as a signal is present on the source, the 12 V trigger is activated and the cs-500dsp4 is awakened from power saving mode. According to the manufacturer, this works with any optical audio output, tested by the manufacturer with Amazon Echo Link, Sonos Connect and ChromeCast Audio.
